After more then a half year spent in Zanzibar I know a lot about this magical Island. I fell in love with the less touristic area of Zanzibar, which is the South-East Coast, and teached Yoga there in many different Hotels. In this part of the island you can experience the high and low tide, which means that the water disappears completely every 6 hours so that you can take long walks on the beach looking at the amazing landscape in front of you. At night you can see the stars clearly and its just magical.
Apart from its enchanting nature, it is the ideal place for letting go of anxiety, thoughts and stress and also for changing your perspective and open your mind to a new culture. "Hakuna Matata" means "No Worries" and "Pole Pole" means "Slowly Slowly", which are the words you will hear most of the time and which are probably missing in our everyday life. What is also missing is the perception of what we already have and to see that we are supported. What you need is inside you and not on the outside.
